Your company profile
Your company profile is the persistent record BenefitStack uses to match you with schemes and pre-fill application forms. The more complete it is, the more accurate your eligibility scores and the less manual work when you actually apply.
Your profile health dashboard is at /profile/completeness. It shows your current score out of 100 and the specific gaps you can fill to improve it.
The five profile sections
Business Basics — 25 points
The foundation of your profile: company name, sector, state, legal entity type, stage, annual revenue, employee count, and incorporation year. Most of this is captured during the initial assessment, but you can update it at any time in Profile → Edit.
Also includes your business description — a free-text narrative of what your company does. This feeds into AI-generated application write-ups and appears in the CA brief shared with your accountant.
Legal Identity — 30 points
Your company's registration identifiers: CIN, GSTIN, Udyam number, and DPIIT recognition number. These are directly checked against scheme eligibility criteria — MSME registration (Udyam) is a prerequisite for dozens of schemes, and DPIIT recognition unlocks the highest-value startup programmes.
If you have these registrations, add them in Profile → Edit. If you don't, BenefitStack provides guided registration pages at /register/udyam, /register/dpiit, /register/gem, and /register/iec.
Founders — 25 points
Individual founder and director records: name, DIN, PAN, gender, category (General, SC, ST, OBC, PwD), and shareholding percentage. These unlock eligibility for women-led, SC/ST majority, and reservation-based schemes that specifically require founder-level data.
Manage founders at Profile → Founders. Shareholding percentages must total 100% before BenefitStack can use them for eligibility checks.
Document Vault — 15 points
Core documents uploaded to your vault: PAN card, Aadhaar, and your company's incorporation certificate. The first three vault documents directly increase your profile score. Additional documents improve your readiness for specific schemes but don't affect the base score.
See The document vault for how to upload and manage documents.
KYC — 5 points
Identity verification status for your company and GST registration. BenefitStack cross-checks your CIN against MCA records and your GSTIN against GST network data. A verified KYC status signals to scheme portals and CAs that your registration data is accurate.
Trigger a KYC check from Profile → KYC & trust score.
Profile health bands
Your total score (0–100) falls into one of four bands:
- Strong (80–100) — Profile is fully complete. All high-value schemes can be matched with high accuracy.
- Good (60–79) — Most sections complete. Minor gaps may affect accuracy for a small number of schemes.
- Partial (40–59) — Several sections incomplete. Eligibility scores may be lower or less confident than they could be.
- Minimal (0–39) — Core information missing. Work through the gap list on the Profile Health page to improve your results.
Why completing your profile matters
The seven-question assessment captures enough to generate a first set of matches, but it only uses a fraction of the data that determines scheme eligibility. A complete profile allows BenefitStack to:
- Unlock schemes that require verified MSME or DPIIT status
- Increase the confidence level of your existing matches
- Pre-fill portal application forms with your exact values
- Generate accurate CA briefs so your accountant has everything they need before starting work
