Inbound startup applications
The Inbound tab shows startups that have proactively applied to your incubator through BenefitStack. Unlike the Portfolio tab — where you add companies yourself — the Inbound tab is driven by the startup. They generate a government benefits package and email it to you directly from the platform.
How startups apply to you
- A startup completes the eligibility assessment and sees incubator-routed schemes in their results.
- From their assessment, they open the Incubator Package — a formatted view of the schemes they would need an incubator to apply for.
- They click Email to incubator, enter your incubator's contact email, and send.
You receive an email with a link to their package and a one-click review button. Their application also appears in your Inbound tab.
Activating the Inbound tab
The Inbound tab is only visible if your partner account is linked to an entry in the BenefitStack incubator registry. The registry is the public directory of empanelled incubators that founders browse when looking for incubators to apply to. To link your account, email support@benefitstack.in — the BenefitStack team links your partner profile to the correct registry entry.
Reviewing inbound applications
Each row in the Inbound table shows the startup's company name, sector, state, number of matched schemes, and estimated value. Click the company name to open their full incubator package in a new tab.
To record your decision, use the status column. Status options are:
- Interested — you want to learn more or move forward with this startup
- Needs info — you have questions before deciding
- Not a fit — this startup is not a match for your incubator right now
The startup receives an email notification when you update your status. Your notes (if any) are included in the notification.
What the Inbound tab does not do
Inbound is a review queue, not an application management system. It tracks which startups reached out and what your initial response was. It does not manage the full application process, milestone tracking, or grant disbursement — those are features planned for a future release.
