Adding portfolio companies

Adding a portfolio company to BenefitStack links them to your partner account so their assessment results and application progress appear on your portfolio dashboard. There are two ways to add a company.

Mode 1 — Send an invite email

Use this when: the founder prefers to fill in their own company details and run the assessment themselves.

  1. On your partner dashboard, click + Add company.
  2. Select Send invite email.
  3. Enter the founder's email address and optionally their company name.
  4. Click Add & send invite.

The founder receives an email with a unique link. When they sign up or sign in through that link and complete the assessment, their results are automatically linked to your portfolio. You do not need to do anything further.

Mode 2 — Fill the profile now

Use this when: you are onboarding a batch of companies and want to complete the assessment on their behalf — for example during a cohort kickoff session.

  1. Click + Add company and select Fill profile now.
  2. Enter the company name.
  3. Click Continue to profile form.
  4. You are taken directly to the 7-step assessment flow. Fill in the details for that company and submit.

The assessment results are saved to your portfolio immediately. You can repeat this for each company in your portfolio — each runs as a separate company record.

Tracking invite status

Companies added via invite email appear on your dashboard with a status of Invited until the founder completes their assessment, at which point the status updates to Scanned. You can see which invites are pending and re-send them from the dashboard if needed.

Company limit

There is no hard limit on the number of companies you can add to your portfolio. Contact support@benefitstack.in if you are onboarding a large cohort and need assistance with bulk setup.
